Latest Updates from Our Project:

New Prototypes Have Arrived!
almost 3 years ago – Thu, May 20, 2021 at 12:32:56 PM

Hello dear Decaying siblings,

As we said in previous comments and posts on our social media, we finally received the new prototype from our manufacturer. We are so happy about the result! All the new custom pieces turned out great and we are very satisfied with it overall! And as promised, here we are to show you pictures of the various components!

Here’s the KS Edition boxes of the core set and the expansions. We really love the full art back and the Architects with UV finish on the sides.

A special highlight of the prototype is the Tribute Essence! The new design is finally done and amazing. We are especially in love with the colors: they seem to shine with their own light. They are definitely Luca’s favorites! He’s been talking about them since he saw them.

And, oh my! Isn’t this white Fragment beautiful? And the KS Exclusive black one too! And the Barrier! The Modifiers! We are really pleased with the components.

We would like to improve on the color of the disc on top of the Soulgivers and the Decay dice, but everything else is just stunning. Even though this is a digital sample, the illustrations on the cards look amazing, the UV effect on the tiles and the trays…we really can’t get over the excitement of seeing our creation finally come to life. We really hope you like them as much as we do and you can share our enthusiasm.

Now we just need to fix a few minor details and we are ready for the mass production samples. We’ll keep you posted!

Also, one more thing: We need to now confirm all the files as final, that means we won't be able to make any changes. Therefore, any backer who completes their survey from now on won't see their name inside the box.

If you missed the past few updates, you can find them here and here.

Hello There! Here's Some Pre-Production Photos!
about 3 years ago – Mon, Apr 19, 2021 at 01:33:55 AM

Hello dear Decaying creatures,

As we said a few weeks back, we’ve sent in all the files and now we are finally starting to see the results. So we thought that popping in quickly just to share some photos and some excitement with all of you!

These are definitely not high-quality photos our manufacturer sent us, but we are so happy to see Soulgivers finally taking shape in its final form. These are just the first few photos of the assembling process of some paper components, but we’ll be soon seeing more of the production of the digital samples.

The game is coming along, and it will be shipped to us soon!

If you missed the past few updates, you can find them here and here.

Update 3 - All files have been sent in!
about 3 years ago – Wed, Mar 24, 2021 at 11:16:42 AM

Hello dear Decaying creatures,

Sorry we’ve been kind of quiet, but the past few weeks were crucial to the production and we invested all our energies in getting everything ready. As you know, our team is very small, so it is important that we focus on the most important thing at the moment, and for the past few weeks that was production.

Long story short:

  • All components have been sent in in February
  • Waiting to see and receive the prototypes in order to confirm all upgrades and fixes
  • Thank you, proofreaders!
  • New Gravity Games logo

Let's start from the top.

In the past few weeks, we’ve been busy sending all the material needed. The molds for plastic pieces we modified should be ready by the end of this month, while the engineers are checking the digital files of all the paper components. We are now waiting for them to make a first prototype with the new files and send them out for us to approve them. Now, it’s all in our manufacturer’s hands. This phase is crucial because we need to see all finishes, colors, and upgrades and approve them in order to go to the next phase and start mass production. We’ll post pictures as soon as we get the prototypes. We can’t wait to see Soulgivers' final look! Here's a sneak peek of the Core and the Soulcrusher expansion box set (Kickstarter Edition). We love them both!

As you can imagine since we've sent all files in, all illustrations have been completed. Now that we have a bit more time, we'll be showing them to you on our social media pages. Luca did an amazing job!

We'll soon show you the the final form of the Foil Cards as well. As we said during the campaign, they'll be full-art and they will only present the English name of the Abilities and Aura and the symbols of their range.

In the meantime, we’ve had certified Cromalin made to check the printed colors of the illustrations and help the manufacturer reach the same top quality.

Keep an eye on our social media because we'll soon ask you for your suggestion.  As we're finalizing the Artbook, we'd like to hear what you think. What would you like to see in it? What can't miss in it? Do you have question on the creative process of the illustrations or the game? Feel free to ask us any questions. Some of them might end up directly in the artbook!

We'd also like your opinion on other matters. For example, which Soulgivers would you like to see as the smartphone wallpaper? We'll dedicate some stories and posts to these and similar matters on our Facebook and Instagram pages, so keep an eye and help us get you exactly what you want.

We also want to thank all the people that kindly volunteered as proofreaders. Your help was crucial, and we really appreciated. You'll see the names of all of those who contributed to the rulebook in the credits.

We are really excited to announce the Gravity Games logo!

Gravity Games is the company we opened in order to produce Soulgivers and the real mastermind behind Soulgivers. We want to define our identity in the board game world so that you'll easily recognize us in future projects! We'd like to thank Samu and Diana from Meeple Foundry for their great job on the logo and all their help. Here's a preview of the black and white logo!

Thank you all for your patience too! Now that the big bulk of the work has been submitted, we’ll get back to communicating more with you.

Road to Soulgivers - Update 2
about 3 years ago – Wed, Feb 17, 2021 at 03:50:53 PM

Hello dear Decaying brothers and sisters!

How are you? Here's our update about what we've accomplished in the past days.

In short:

  • English and Italian rulebooks have their new layout and are 99% ready!
  • Cards have their final layout
  • The manufacturer sent us the first 3D samples of the new designs.
  • New puzzles coming soon!

Our team has been working hard on the layout of the new rulebook. The English and Italian rulebooks are basically ready (with a 2vs2 in it!). Only a few images that need to be updated are missing. Our second step is to send them to the awesome group of volunteers that have accepted to review the rulebook and proofread it, along with the other translations.

The final layout of the Rulebook

We finally are happy with the final layout of the cards.

As you can see, we've made a few changes: the icon of the movement is now different from the other icons (as you suggested!), and we've added the new icons for the Collecting the Fragment action, the Dropping of the Fragment action, and the Passing of the Fragment action. We've also updated the text of the cards and specified even more the range of the Ability.

We think that it is more clean and organized this way. We really like its style now. With that said, Luca is a perfections, so he might still tweak a detail or two before printing.

Also, as you may have seen on our social media, our manufacturer sent us the prototypes of the new designs. We are happy with some of them, but need to still tweak some 3D samples. These are not final, but they are essential to give us an idea of what the final product would look like. So we want to make sure that all the details we worked on are there and as we want them to be. And functional! We like pretty, but all pieces also have to work for the gameplay!

Our super cool 3D-printed prototypes!

An awesome backer sent us a few Soulgivers puzzles he created! We'll be soon fixing up a space for these puzzles on our social media account. Do you think you'll be able to solve them all?

As we said before, our manufacturer will be close for New Year's for the next few weeks, so we're going to spend time fixed the details on all paper component and some (boring) bureaucratic stuff, in order to be ready when they re-open.

This is it for now! Keep an eye on our social media for the new illustrations and constant updates!
