Road to Soulgivers
over 3 years ago – Thu, Jan 21, 2021 at 04:05:50 PM

Hello dear Decaying Creatures,

it's 2021! This is the year we'll finally deliver Soulgivers to your hands! We decided this was a good time to give you an update on everything that has happened during the past few weeks.

The Core set illustrations are all done and ready! The last one, but not least, to join the family was the Specter Patcher. Luca is now working hard on finishing the Expansion sets. Don't worry, we'll show them to you very soon! Check out Facebook and Instagram posts.

A sneak peek of our newest art, you'll see them very soon on our FB/Instagram pages

We are working on the layout of the cards: we welcomed your suggestions during the campaign and decided to make the movement (free action) slightly different from the other Tribute Action icons. We made the text as clear and streamlined as possible, but also made the range and other smaller details even better and clear. In the next few weeks we'll show you the final product.

There are a lot of things we are working on to make Soulgivers your favourite game

And now let's get to the tough part. As you know, in November, Luca had Covid for over a month couldn't work at all because of it. This slowed us down quite a bit and we missed our deadline of End of December. Despite we didn't really stopped working during the holidays, as you know, Gravity Games is not made up of a huge team, so we are running about a month late on our deadlines. This means we'll be hitting the Chinese New Year during the pre-production phase which will delay the production, and the shipping to us and, as a consequence, to the shipping to you, unfortunately. Since we want to be as straightforward as possible here's the calendar of our next moves:

Updated Timeline

End of January: starting pre-production.

We'll be starting pre-production right at the end of this month. Our manufacturer closes for only two weeks for the New Year, however the plants will be closed for the entire month of February. The pre-production phase lasts about 50 days. According to our manufacturer, this phase will be delayed due to the holidays and should be done at the end of March/early April. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about it, especially because this is a crucial phase for us because we'll be testing all the upgrades we made to the game pieces.

But we'll be showing you the new prototypes, and posting photos of all the new shiny things you'll find in your box.

End of March/early April: Production

The production phase take about 60 days. During this time, everything is out of our hands, and all we can to is...wait. But we'll be sending constant updates about how the production is going!

End of May/beginning of June: End of Production!

The game will be all nice and ready to be shipped to us!

This mean that around this time, we'll be also charging the cards for shipping or any additional purchases you made on Backerkit (survey or preorder).

End of June/Beginning of July: Ready!

By this time, the game should get to us (for IT and EU) or to the other different shipping regions. It will take about 2 - 4 weeks from the manufacturer to the destination. Then, keep in mind 1 or 2 weeks to organize all the orders and get it ready to be shipped to you!

We'll keep you posted through updates and our social media about every single step of the production and show you how it is going.

Also, as we are getting our Rulebook and cards ready, we'd like to create a small community of language nerds and board game enthusiasts that are willing to help proofread the rulebook. This Kickstarter experience taught us how important your feedback is, and how effective the rulebook is at the base of playing Soulgivers. So, if you are interested please reach out (You know it already, but just in case: [email protected])

We really appreciate your support and participation. We wouldn't be where we are without you. So if you have any suggestions, anything you'd like to recommend or say to help, please do! Your presence and support is incredibly helpful and fundamental for us.

Post-Campaign Update
over 3 years ago – Thu, Dec 24, 2020 at 02:36:20 AM

Hello decaying brothers and sisters!

This is just a quick update on what is going on in the post-campaign Soulgivers multiverse.

Other than unlocking the pledge manager and the late pledge, we have been preparing Soulgivers for production.

In these past few weeks, we have finalized all the plastic and acrylic pieces and sent in the final versions with all the upgrades unlocked during the campaign. We've added more tactile effects to the tokens, we have brand new Tribute Essences, and improved the durability of all the pieces. You'll see our brand new Barrier which is now fit for our 2vs2 gameplay mode, a cool new fragment, and many more details we can't wait for you to discover.

We've also been working on a new plastic tray, so that your premium quality game pieces can fit in a well-deserved new, comfortable home.

Luca has also been working hard on the illustrations. He's been taking new photos of the different materials that make the Specters a unique population, as you saw in our posts. But he's also been polishing the brand new short story that you'll find in the Collector's Edition artbook.

We are working on streamlining the rulebook and card text, so that you can be ready to play the game in no time. That applies to the translations as well; we've hired German, French, and Spanish native translators specialized in board games, in order to provide you with the best German, French, and Spanish version we can. As we previously mentioned, we're also going to have the translations checked by native board gamers to make sure it is indeed a good translation.

Next on our list there are the tiles, cards, and the rulebook.

We are truly excited about the final product and can't wait for it to be in your hands.

The Gatekeeper + FAQ
over 3 years ago – Sun, Nov 15, 2020 at 07:06:46 PM

Hello backers!

We saw many of you are super curious about the 14th hero, the Gatekeeper! That's so exciting!

We just want to let you know that we are not keeping secrets from you, it's just that Luca has been sick for the past couple of weeks and so it is hard to plan live events.

We will show it to you for sure before the end of the pledge manager, so you can have a sneak peak of this mysterious hero and their abilities.

Also, here are some FAQs that might interest you.

How long will the pledge manager?

The pledge manager will be open until November 30th. But don't worry, if you didn't fill it out, we'll send you a reminder before closing it.

Where is the Whisperer, the 13th hero?

You cannot purchase the Whisperer because it is already included in your pledge for free! It was unlocked during the campaign for all the backers!

How do I set up a local pickup?

In the shipping section, select "Local Pickup" as a Country and fill the rests of the gaps with N/A.

Once you did this, go back to the "2.Add Ons" section and check that it states "Shipping €0.00."

We'll communicate all the exact locations before the pledge manager is closed, but for now we can confirm the pickup location in Merate (LC), Italy.

How many sleeves do I need to protect my game?

It depends:

I you want to cover the Core set+Soulcrusher only (total of 26 120x70 cards and 28 63x88 cards) or the Core set + all the expansions (total of 32 120x70 cards and 28 63x88 cards) you only need the add on listed as "Set of Clear Sleeves" which includes a full set of 32 120x70mm and 30 63x88mm.

If you want to cover the Core set+Soulcrusher and the FOIL set (total of 48 120x70 cards and 28 63x88 cards) or the Core set + all the expansions + FOIL (total of 62 120x70 cards and 28 63x88 cards), you will need the "Set of Clear Sleeves" which includes a full set of 32 120x70mm and 30 63x88mm AND a "Pack of 32 Clear Sleeves 120x70mm" which is a single pack of 32 120x70 card sleeves.

How will my translation be? Will it be good?

We are now in the process of finalizing the rulebook and hiring translators. But don't worry, once we get it translated, we'll have other native speakers check it and make sure it's streamlined and that works.

Don't forget

If you want Soulgivers to keep growing, at the end of the survey please share that you are a Soulgivers backer on your social media. It would really help us to grow our community!

See you soon,

The Soulgivers Team
